Division Avenue High School Library

Levittown, New York



  Our school library is staffed by a Library Media Specialist, Miss Veronica Price, a Senior Library Clerk, Mrs. Gladys Sullivan, and three student trainees.

      The library seats seventy-two students, has 14,000 volumes, subscribes to over fourty-five periodicals and three newspapers. Our collection also includes CD-ROM resources, and internet access through Long Island Net. Our collection can be accessed by computer with Mac School.

        Available on CD-ROM for backissues of fulltext periodical and newspaper articles are Infotrac, InfotracJR., SIRS, and Newsbank. Coverage dates back as far as 1985. Next year the library will be participating in a pilot project that will provide online access to periodicals from Proquest Direct, UMI, and Electric Library. These resources will only be available on library computers.
